富士山は2013年の6月に世界文化遺産に登録されました。
雄大さ、気高さ、美しさなどを基盤とし、信仰や芸術を生み出した神の山として、世界に二つとない価値を持つと評価されました。
富士山は今から千年以上前の日本最古の詩集「万葉集」の中で「富士は日本の守り神」とも歌われたほど日本人の心の中に深く存在し、豊かなエネルギーを与え続けています。
沢山の富士の恵みの一つに、豊富な湧き水があります。100年前に降った雨や雪が富士の溶岩で濾過され美しい水になっていろんな所から湧き出しています。
今私たちが使っているのは曾祖父母やそのまた上の世代の人達の上に降った雨や雪です。皆様がこの後口にされるまた、手を洗われる水も富士山が濾過してくれた100年前の雨です。私たち、富士北麓の人々はこの神の水を使って、2200年前から織物を織り続けてきました。
この地域の最大の文化です。織る前に糸をその富士山の湧き水で染める事が最も重要な特徴です。
100年前の先祖が地球をきれいに使ってくれていた事に感謝しつつ、私たちも100年後の子孫達に美しい水と織物文化を継承して行かねばならないと思っています。
Mt.Fuji was registreted as Wolrd Heritage in June 2013.
Mt.Fuji has been praised as a mountain of God that is generated faith and art and that there is no other mountain like Mt.Fuji for its magnificence,nobleness and beauty.
It exsits deep inside of the hearts of the Japanese people, and it keeps giving us the rich energy.
One of the blessings of Mt. Fuji is the plenty of spring water.
The rain and snow that fell on the earth 100 years ago have been filtered by the lava of Mt. Fuji and now it's coming out of many places over the mountain.
The water we are using now is the rain and the snow that fell on our great grandparents.
We, the people from the north foot of Mt.Fuji, have been weaving the fabric using this water for more than 2200 years.
It's the biggest culture of this region.
The most important feature is to dye the yarn with the spring water before weaving.
The water of Mt.Fuji has extremely little impurities that is gives the fabric vivid color with distinct glaze and luster, that people say the satin looks just a mirror.
